Ahead of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior World Championships to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from June 18–22, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has assessed the prospects of participating athletes.
Among the potential medal contenders, FIG has included Shams Aghahuseynova of Azerbaijan, Idman.biz reports.
The FIG preview stated: “From the Asian continent comes a handful of medallists from their recent junior championships. Shams Aghahuseynova (AZE), Akmaral Yerekesheva (KAZ) and Viktoriya Nikiforova (UZB) are among those who could make a name for themselves in Sofia.”
Aghahuseynova previously won a bronze medal in the team event at last year’s European Championships.
