At the European Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics held in Baku, Italian athletes claimed the most medals.
The Italians won five medals in individual events. Sofia Raffaeli triumphed in the Cross Battle and ball events, while Tara Draqas secured silver in the clubs and ribbon competitions, and bronze in the hoop event, Idman.biz reports.
The Italian group team also took first place in the five ribbons routine.
The Azerbaijani team, on the other hand, earned five medals at the tournament. The team, consisting of Laman Alimuradova, Darya Sorokina, Yelyzaveta Luzan, Gullu Aghalarzada, Kamilla Aliyeva, and Sofiya Mammadova, reached the podium twice. The gymnasts won gold in the three balls and two hoops routine, as well as bronze in the all-around competition. Additionally, Shams Aghahuseynova took third place in the junior ribbon event. On the final day of the competition, the team of Nazrin Abdullayeva, Ayan Nasirova, Nazrin Salmanlı, Ilaha Bahadirova, Shams Muvaffagi, and Nilufar Orujlu earned bronze in two finals – in the five hoops and five pairs of clubs routines.
Over 170 gymnasts from 25 countries participated in the event.
