“I’m happy with my victory at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Cup in Baku. It will help me perform better at the upcoming European Championships,” said Italian gymnast Sofia Raffaeli after her win in the Azerbaijani capital.
The Olympic bronze medalist defeated Uzbekistan’s Lola Djuraeva in the final following the Cross Battle round, Idman.biz reports.
Raffaeli emphasized that her Baku victory is an important step toward the European Championships.
Reflecting on her post-Olympic journey, Raffaeli shared: “Just one week after the Summer Games, I was back in the gym, thrilled to resume training and work on new routines. I’m still the same Sofia I was last year!”
Notably, this marks Raffaeli’s second win in Baku this year — she previously claimed gold in the all-around at the World Cup held at the National Gymnastics Arena.
