Formula One world champion Max Verstappen has found himself in the spotlight for off-track reasons following reports in Brazilian media linking him to an ongoing investigation, Idman.Biz reports.
According to Metropoles, the Dutch driver and his family are alleged to have had contact with arrested banker Daniel Vorcaro. The claims are based on investigation materials suggesting that Vorcaro helped arrange a property rental in Angra dos Reis for Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet during the New Year period.
The report also mentions the possibility of other interactions, although no formal accusations have been made against the driver. The story has quickly gained traction given Verstappen’s global profile as one of Formula One’s leading figures.
Piquet responded strongly on social media, criticising the coverage and stating that “using our names for clickbait is inappropriate and unprofessional”. Verstappen’s representatives have also dismissed the claims, insisting they do not reflect reality.
The situation highlights the intense scrutiny faced by top athletes beyond their sport, particularly when high-profile investigations intersect with celebrity circles.
