Napoli’s perfect start to their Serie A title defence will be tested on Sunday when they travel to the San Siro for a showdown with AC Milan.
Idman.biz, citing Reuters, reports that Antonio Conte’s side have won all four opening league games, stretching their unbeaten domestic run to 16 matches and moving two points clear at the top.
Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan, who stumbled on opening day with a 2-1 loss to Cremonese, have since bounced back with three straight wins to climb to third, just three points behind Napoli. Injured winger Rafael Leao could return but is unlikely to start, leaving Santiago Gimenez and new signing Christopher Nkunku to carry the attack, supported by veteran Luka Modric.
Napoli, coping without injured Romelu Lukaku, have seen Rasmus Hojlund and Lorenzo Lucca step up. Conte admitted his new recruits need time to adapt but insists rotation is unlikely before Napoli’s Champions League clash with Sporting. With no European distractions, Milan could prove a serious rival in the title race.
