AFFA has granted a one-season grace period regarding coaches to the clubs "Karvan-Yevlakh" and Imishli, which have been promoted from the First League to the Premier League.
This information was announced by the association’s press service, Idman.biz reports.
At the AFFA Executive Committee meeting held on March 14, 2025, a decision was made to increase the number of teams in the Azerbaijani Premier League for the 2025/2026 season and to grant promoted clubs a one-year grace period to address deficiencies in infrastructure, administrative, and other areas.
Based on this decision, clubs that have not participated in the Premier League in the last three seasons and have been promoted from the First League based on last season’s results will be granted a one-season grace period with the following conditions:
- For coaches employed by the clubs, the licensing requirements for coaching qualifications will be accepted one category lower (provided they are not below UEFA Category C).
- U-16, U-17, U-19, and reserve teams may not participate in the leagues.
