Murad Musayev: "I was surrounded by good people in Azerbaijan, I couldn’t leave"

Former head coach of Sabah, Russian Murad Musayev, has recalled his arrival at the Azerbaijani club.

The coach who led Krasnodar to a championship in Russia, shared his experiences during his time in Azerbaijan in an interview with Sport-Express, Idman.biz reports.

When asked, “After Aleksandr Storozhuk resigned from Krasnodar, you received an offer from the club. Why didn’t you return?” he replied: “I was already working at Sabah. There were major positive changes happening at the club. The management fulfilled every promise, the training base was being built, the stadium was being renovated. Most importantly, the team was playing beautiful football. There was such unity within the squad that even training sessions were a joy!

I was surrounded by good people in Azerbaijan, so I couldn’t leave. After leading the team to a silver medal, taking them to European competitions, and completing a certain stage, I understood that I could move on. But when that offer came, I just couldn’t accept it. No matter how good the offers were, I had to finish that season.”
