Russian coach Murad Musayev has said he is proud of his work with Azerbaijan’s Sabah football club.
The coach, who recently led Krasnodar to their first-ever Russian Premier League title, also reflected on his time in Azerbaijan in an interview with Sport-Express, Idman.biz reports.
“When I went to Azerbaijan, we started trying many new things, fresh ideas, emotions, and great results. I’m proud of my time at what was then a new club. Now, Sabah is considered one of the big clubs in the country. After winning the national cup with Vasiliy Berezutskiy, they will play in European competitions for the third time.”
“At that time, Sabah was at the bottom of the league table, but by the end of the season, we finished fifth. The next year, we played attractive football with hybrid formations and ended up as silver medalists. It was important to go through all of that, difficulties, doubts. Returning to Krasnodar wasn’t easy either. To achieve success, you must pass through all these stages,” Musayev said.
