Former Neftchi goalkeeper: “Zira has never experienced such an atmosphere before”

"I think Hayduk is the favorite in this tie. But that’s not really the most important thing."

Idman.biz reports that these are the words of former Neftchi goalkeeper Ivan Brkić in an interview with Sport24.az.

Currently playing for Polish club Motor, the 29-year-old goalkeeper shared his thoughts on the upcoming UEFA Europa League second qualifying round clash between Zira (Azerbaijan) and Hayduk Split (Croatia).

The Croatian player noted that Hayduk hasn't made a strong impression in Europe in recent years: "The team has sometimes lost to very low-level clubs. Zirə needs to be very careful with Marko Livaja. In my opinion, and according to many others, he is a world-class footballer."

Brkić also praised the support of Hayduk’s fans:
"I believe Zira has never experienced such an atmosphere before."

The first leg of the tie will take place on July 23 at the Neftçi Arena in Baku, and the return match is scheduled for July 31 at the Poljud Stadium in Split.
