Following a disappointing season, Neftchi Baku has parted ways with another player.
The Azerbaijani club has decided not to extend the contract of Brazilian defender Yuri Matias, Idman.biz reports.
The 30-year-old confirmed his departure and return to Brazil:
“After my experiences in Portugal, Iran, Romania, and Azerbaijan, I’ve returned to Brazil. After a short vacation with my family, I’ll decide on the next step in my career.”
Yuri Matias joined Neftchi in the summer of 2023 and made a notable contribution during his time in the Azerbaijan Premier League, scoring 7 goals in 58 appearances.
