With the support of UEFA and the organization of AFFA, a football festival was held at the ASCO Arena for 5-8-year-old female football players as part of the Playmakers project.
80 girls from 25 Playmakers centers operating across Azerbaijan and their coaches and teachers participated in the festival, Idman.biz reports.
The football matches and relays organized during the event provided the girls with an opportunity to both show their skills and learn football with love. They both learned and had fun on the field.
Playmakers festival created an important environment for children not only on the football field, but also for building self-confidence, social skills and friendships. The fact that participants from different centers played together reflected the inclusive and unifying spirit of the program. At the end of the event, all participants were presented with special certificates by the head of the AFFA Mass Football Department, veteran football player Farrukh Ismayilov.
Playmakers project is a unique educational and sports program for girls aged 5-8, developed in collaboration with UEFA and Disney. The main goal of the project is to create interest in football in children, increase their self-confidence, support team spirit and physical development. The training sessions are based on entertaining stories and games, which increase children's interest in football and facilitate their involvement in this sport from an early age. The project has been implemented nationwide under the organization of AFFA since 2022.
Currently, the program covers various regions of the country and is considered one of the strategic platforms for the development of women's football.
