Badavi Huseynov: “As long as my health allows, I’ll continue to contribute to Qarabag”

“The team is progressing, and I’m confident we’ll only get better,” said Qarabag defender Badavi Huseynov in an interview with Idman.biz.

The team captain shared his thoughts following Qarabag’s 12th league title, emphasizing that the season had its fair share of memorable moments, Idman.biz reports.

“I’m incredibly happy that we’ve become champions. It’s a great joy and an emotional moment for all of us. But there’s still an important task ahead—the Azerbaijan Cup final. We can’t afford to relax after the title win. We have to maintain our momentum and stay focused on the decisive match. Although this season had some setbacks, I believe we’ll come back even stronger next year,” he said.

The 33-year-old also addressed his future with the club:

“This place is my home. I’ve been with Qarabag for 13 years and can’t imagine myself playing anywhere else. As long as my health and strength allow, I’ll do my best to help the team.”

Notably, Huseynov—who joined Qarabag in 2012—has become the sixth player in Azerbaijan Premier League history to play at least 250 matches for the same club. Five of those players have achieved that milestone with Qarabag, while one did so with Khazar Lankaran.
