The atmosphere in the team is very good.
This was stated by Sabail goalkeeper Alirza Mushtabazada in an interview with Idman.biz, reflecting on their 1-1 draw against Araz-Nakhchivan in the 32nd round of the Misli Premier League.
The 23-year-old keeper admitted they didn’t achieve the result they wanted:
“We went into the match aiming for victory and showed good football. Unfortunately, we dropped two points, and the game ended in a draw.”
Mushtabazada emphasized that the team will fight to the very end to maintain its place in the Premier League:
“We have four matches left. We will do our best to get good results in these games. On May 3, we face Shamakhi away. We know it will be a tough match, but we will take the field aiming for victory. I hope everything will turn out well — we want to stay in the Premier League.”
As for his own future, Alirza, whose contract with Sabail expires in June, said it is too early to discuss whether he will stay at the club.
Currently, Sabail is one of the main relegation candidates, sitting seven points behind Kapaz and nine behind Sumgayit with just four rounds remaining. However, the Baku-based side still has a chance to postpone relegation with strong results in the upcoming games.
