Sumgait goalkeeper Mehdi Jannatov expressed his opinion about being left out of the Azerbaijan national team.
32-year-old goalkeeper, who made a statement on Report.az, said that he respects the decision of the head coach of the national team, Fernando Santus, Idman.biz reports:
"We have to win the trust of our head coach on the field with the match we have shown. Of course, for that we need to play better and show a good performance. We have to show on the field that we are worthy of the team. If I didn't get a place in the national team, then there is a reason. We have to work on ourselves."
M.Jannatov was in the main squad in the first 4 matches of the UEFA Nations League of the Azerbaijan national team this season. Head coach Fernando Santos did not include the glove owner's name in the squad for the matches against Estonia and Sweden.
