UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin may nominate a candidate in the next elections.
As Idman.biz reports, the Slovenian official has promised not to participate in the 2027 elections but is considering the option of not keeping his promise.
In this regard, Ceferin has started holding meetings with representatives of associations that are members of UEFA. 20 countries of the continent support him and want him to remain in office.
The 56-year-old functionary was forced to change his mind because he did not see a successor. Because no one announced his desire to be a candidate.
Ceferin has been the head of UEFA since September 2016.
