Dani Alves Becomes Co Owner of Portuguese Club

Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has become a co owner of Portuguese club Sao Joao de Ver, which competes in the country’s third division.

According to Idman.Biz, citing Maisfutebol, Alves has purchased 50 percent of the club’s shares, with the remaining stake set to be acquired immediately after the end of the current 2025/26 season.

It is also reported that the 42 year old footballer is planning to resume his playing career and sign a contract with Sao Joao de Ver for at least six months, from January to June 2026.

It should be recalled that in February 2024 Dani Alves was sentenced to four and a half years in prison on charges of sexual assault. However, after spending 14 months in pre trial detention, he was acquitted by the High Court of Catalonia in March last year.
