It has become known how Azerbaijan’s representatives voted in the FIFA poll for the Best Player of the Year, Idman.Biz reports.
Azerbaijan were represented in the voting by national team head coach Aykhan Abbasov, team captain Emin Mahmudov and journalist Rasim Movsumov. According to the rules, each voter makes three selections in every category, awarding 5, 3 and 1 points.
In the Best Player of 2025 category, Abbasov gave five points to Achraf Hakimi, three to Kylian Mbappe and one to Mohamed Salah. In the Best Coach category, he ranked Luis Enrique first, followed by Arne Slot and Mikel Arteta. Among goalkeepers, Abbasov chose Gianluigi Donnarumma, Manuel Neuer and Yann Sommer.
Mahmudov awarded maximum points to Kylian Mbappe, three to Ousmane Dembele and one to Lamine Yamal. He named Luis Enrique as Best Coach, with Enzo Maresca and Arne Slot next. In the goalkeeper vote, the Azerbaijan captain selected Gianluigi Donnarumma, Thibaut Courtois and Alisson Becker.
Movsumov placed Ousmane Dembele first, followed by Lamine Yamal and Achraf Hakimi. In the coaching category, he preferred Luis Enrique, Enzo Maresca and Mikel Arteta. Among goalkeepers, the journalist voted for Gianluigi Donnarumma, David Raya and Emiliano Martinez.
According to the overall results of the FIFA vote, Ousmane Dembele was named Best Player of the Year, Luis Enrique was recognized as Best Head Coach, and Gianluigi Donnarumma won the award for Best Goalkeeper.
