FIFA has responded to growing criticism over high ticket prices for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by introducing a new ticket category priced at $60 per match.
According to The Times the world football governing body decided to release the lower-priced option following mounting pressure from supporters and fan organizations.
Earlier, the Football Supporters Association called for a halt to ticket sales, demanding negotiations with FIFA over its pricing policy. It was previously reported that tickets for the 2026 World Cup final in the so-called budget category start from $4,185.
The new $60 tickets will account for 10% of the total allocation for each of the tournament’s 104 matches. In addition, each participating country will receive a quota equal to 8% of stadium capacity for matches involving its national team.
