Gurban Gurbanov has visited the grave of Abdolbari Gozal, who served for many years as president and later honorary president of Qarabag football club.
According to Idman.Biz, citing sportinfo.az, the founder of Azersun Holding passed away in Dubai on January 18 this year at the age of 76.
In 2001, during one of the most challenging times for the club, Gozal took Qarabag under his patronage, saving it from the threat of collapse.
He served as club president from 2001 to 2015 and as honorary president from 2015 to 2025.
During those years, Qarabag won 10 Azerbaijani league titles and 7 national cups.
