Elvin Jafarguliyev, Qarabag’s footballer, shared his thoughts with UEFA’s official website following the team’s 2:0 win over Denmark’s Copenhagen in the second round of the Champions League group stage in Baku, Idman.biz reports.
“It was a very tough match. Thankfully, we finished it with a victory. We must now prepare for the upcoming games,” said Jafarguliyev.
The defender, who was named the match’s player of the game, added: “We go onto the field wanting only to win. I don’t know how this story will end, but I am very proud. Thank you to everyone.”
He also expressed gratitude to Qarabag’s Turkish supporters: “Greetings to all our Turkish brothers. I love you very much. We are one nation.”
Qarabag will face Athletic Bilbao in Spain on October 22 in the next group stage match.
