The World Rapid Team Chess Championship continues in London.
After eight rounds, the Freedom team, featuring Azerbaijani champion Rauf Mammadov, has maintained its 3rd place position, Idman.biz reports.
Mammadov himself has played five games since the start of the tournament, winning two of them. The Freedom team currently has 12 points.
Meanwhile, Generation XYZA, which includes Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, has collected 9 points and sits in 19th place. The team has won four out of eight matches at the FIDE World Rapid Team Championship (2 points for a win, 1 for a draw).
