WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis was arrested on Friday in Miami on misdemeanor domestic violence charges related to a June 15 incident near the city. The 30-year-old boxer allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend, who is the mother of his two children.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that Davis was later released on a $10,000 bond, with a court hearing set for July 29.
This marks Davis' third domestic violence arrest, with previous incidents in 2020 and 2022. He also served 44 days in jail in 2023 for violating house arrest terms tied to a 2020 hit-and-run case in Baltimore.
Despite his legal troubles, Davis remains unbeaten in 31 professional fights. His last bout—a controversial draw with Lamont Roach Jr in March, will be followed by a scheduled rematch in August.
