“Both teams deserve to be in the final.”
These were the words of Anar Sariyev, former head coach of Neftchi basketball club, in an interview with Idman.biz as he shared his thoughts on the Azerbaijan Basketball League finals.
Commenting on the thrilling Neftchi vs. Sabah series, the young expert highlighted the competitive nature of the matchups:
“Both teams are performing well. I think Sabah will win today's game. But if Neftchi manages to grab the victory, they won’t let the championship slip away in the seventh game. The final series has been very exciting and colorful.”
Sariyev also praised standout players from both teams:
“I like Hassani Gravett’s performance for Sabah—he’s one of their key weapons. For Neftchi, several names come to mind—Polite Edward, Hendrix, and Brandon Suggs are all very solid defenders.”
The sixth game of the final series will be played today at the Baku Sports Palace. Sabah, currently leading the series 3-2, could secure their third consecutive title with another win. Meanwhile, Neftchi will be looking to tie the series and force a decisive Game 7.
