Azerbaijani wrestling has suffered a great loss.
Victor Avdishev, a product of the Greco-Roman wrestling school and born in 1956 in Goygol district, has passed away, Idman.biz reports.
He died at the age of 69 due to heart failure.
Avdishev was a decorated athlete, crowned European junior champion in 1976, double bronze medalist at the World Championships (1978, 1983), bronze medalist at the European Championships (1983), USSR champion (1978), and winner of the USSR Spartakiad of Peoples (1979).
