Luis Enrique Admits Football Obsession Sometimes Keeps Him Awake at Night

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has admitted that his passion for football sometimes prevents him from resting properly and getting enough sleep.

As reported by İdman.Biz, the Spanish manager spoke about the challenges of switching off from his professional responsibilities in an interview published on the French club's official website.

"A coach never stops thinking about how to improve himself and his team, even during long breaks for international matches. Sometimes, that is precisely the problem for coaches at the highest level — they can never completely disconnect from their work," Enrique explained.

The 56-year-old specialist revealed that preparing for upcoming opponents often occupies his thoughts late into the night.

"Sometimes you cannot sleep because you are thinking about your next opponent, how they will play and what decisions their head coach might make. Managing this passion for football can sometimes be difficult," he added.

Enrique, who previously managed Barcelona and the Spanish national team, has built a reputation for his demanding approach, tactical discipline and commitment to continuous improvement.

His comments highlight the psychological demands placed on elite football managers, whose responsibilities extend far beyond training sessions and matchdays.

PSG will host Le Mans in the French championship on October 10. Ahead of the encounter, the Parisian club sits sixth in the Ligue 1 standings.
