Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has become only the second person to reach the milestone of 250 Premier League appearances both as a player and a manager.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Opta statistics, the 44-year-old achieved the landmark during Arsenal's latest league match.
The Gunners defeated Aston Villa 1-0 on Monday in Matchday 2 of the 2026/27 Premier League season. The game was Arteta's 250th as a manager in the English top flight.
Arteta also made 284 Premier League appearances during his playing career.
The first person to achieve the feat was Mark Hughes. The Welshman made 297 Premier League appearances as a player and managed 466 matches in the competition.
Arteta is currently under contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2027. He signed a new three-year deal with the London club in September 2024.
Arsenal are also one of Baku-based Sabah's opponents in the UEFA Champions League league phase this season. The teams will meet on January 27, 2027, in Matchday 8, the final round of the league phase.
