PSG's Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi sparked discussion after posting a team photo following the UEFA Super Cup.
As reported by İdman.Biz, after PSG's victory, Zabarnyi posted a collage made up of two photos. During the editing process, the top of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov's head was cropped out, making him the only PSG player who was barely visible in the final image.
The same edit also altered part of the image featuring Georgian footballer Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. However, unlike Safonov, the Georgian remained clearly visible in the photo.
The fact that Zabarnyi and Safonov play for the same team had previously attracted media attention. After joining PSG, the Ukrainian defender said that his relationship with his Russian teammate would remain strictly professional.
After the situation sparked widespread discussion among fans, Zabarnyi deleted the photo from his status.
It should be noted that PSG beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the decisive match to lift the trophy.
