Fabien Barthez has joined the France national team's coaching staff.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced the appointment.
The 55-year-old has been named goalkeeping coach.
Zinedine Zidane was previously appointed head coach of France. His coaching staff also includes David Bettoni, Amido Msaydi, Gregory Dupont, Stéphane Plancque, Farid Tabet and Clément Huber.
Fabien Barthez is a World Cup and European Championship winner. With Marseille, he won the UEFA Champions League, while with Manchester United he won the English Premier League twice and with Monaco he won the French league title twice.
Barthez retired from professional football in 2007 and has not worked as a coach since then.
France's first match under Zidane will take place on 25 September. Les Bleus will face Turkey away from home in the opening round of the Nations League group stage.
