The table tennis competition between employees of state institutions has started at the Shua Sports Complex.
Idman.biz reports that the tournament took place within the Sports Week on the occasion of March 5 - Physical Education and Sports Day.
The main goal of the competition organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Table Tennis Federation is to develop table tennis and ensure its popularity.
At the event, the National Anthem was first played, and then the dear memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Earlier in the ceremony, the vice-president of the Azerbaijan Table Tennis Federation, Elmar Islam, accepted the invitations and thanked those who participated in the competition.
Later, the competition was declared open.
A total of 21 teams, including 17 men's teams and 4 women's teams, will compete in the two-day tournament.
