Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 3rd CIS Games Farid Gayibov welcomed the athletes and members of their teams participating in the 3rd CIS Games.
“Dear friends!
Azerbaijan is proud to host the 3rd CIS Games and is delighted to welcome participants, guests, and fans to one of the most significant sporting events for our country.
Our republic has already established itself as a reliable organizer of large-scale events of global importance. Azerbaijan has repeatedly become the stage for major sporting competitions that bring together the best athletes and thousands of spectators from around the world. Over the years, Azerbaijan has hosted the 1st European Games in 2015, the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017, the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2019, the UEFA Europa League Final in 2019, four matches of the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, and the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, held annually in Baku since 2016. All these events have not only strengthened Azerbaijan’s image as a sporting hub of the region but also showcased the high level of organization, advanced infrastructure, and hospitality for which our country is renowned.
The 3rd CIS Games will make history in our country as such competitions will, for the first time, be held across the regions. Seven cities of Azerbaijan are ready to open their doors, to showcase their rich culture, warm hospitality, and modern sports infrastructure.
These Games will serve as a driving force for economic, sporting, and social development, will inspire young people, create bright memories, and leave a valuable legacy — new and renovated world-class sports facilities.
We have done everything possible to ensure the competitions are held at the highest level. An experienced and dedicated team has carried out all the necessary preparations. I am confident that we will provide the best conditions for our guests so they can fully enjoy this event. Together, we will create a celebration of sport that will be a source of pride not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire world.
I wish all participants brilliant victories, and our guests — warm impressions of Azerbaijan.
See you at the 3rd CIS Games!” - said in a statement.
The 3rd CIS Games will take place from September 28 to October 8, 2025, in seven cities across Azerbaijan: Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at Ganja City Stadium. Both events will start at 19:00 local time.
