28-year-old Swiss driver Laura Villars has announced her candidacy for the presidency of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), with elections scheduled for December 12, 2025.
Idman.biz, citing Finance Yahoo, reports that Villars made the following statement:
"The FIA must once again become a federation of clubs and license holders. My goal is to make its management more democratic, transparent, accountable, and open to women and new generations. I firmly believe that motorsport needs diversity and innovation to inspire young people around the world," Villars said.
Throughout her career, Laura has participated in 58 races across the Ultimate Cup Series F3R, F4 UAE, Ferrari Challenge Europe, and the Ligier European Series. In 2023, she finished fifth overall in her first full season in the Ultimate Cup Series F3R. In 2025, Villars is competing in the European Ligier JS P4 Series with the Virage team.
