As the final five days of competition approach at the Universiade taking place in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region, Azerbaijan is currently ranked 12th in the medal standings.
According to correspondent of Idman.biz sent to Germany, the Azerbaijani team has earned two gold and one silver medal.
These medals were won by the rhythmic gymnastics group team – Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Aghalarzade, Darya Sorokina, Kamilla Aliyeva, and Yelyzaveta Luzan.
Turkey, which holds 11th place, also has two gold medals but surpasses Azerbaijan by having one more silver (two in total).
Azerbaijan is currently ahead of countries like Spain, France, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Georgia, Denmark, and many others in the medal table.
The United States leads the medal count (21 gold, 12 silver, 20 bronze), followed by China (12-17-4), with South Korea (11-5-13) rounding out the top three.
