The next meeting of AMADA’s Supervisory Board has been held.
Idman.biz reports that the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) was held under the chairmanship of Board Chair, Member of Parliament Nigar Arpadarai.
The Supervisory Board, established in October 2023, aims to enhance transparency in AMADA’s operations, implement accountable management mechanisms, and ensure compliance with international standards.
During the meeting, a presentation on AMADA’s activities in the first half of 2025 was heard. The agency’s executive director, Tahmina Taghi-zada, delivered a detailed report outlining the initiatives carried out, the work completed, and the results achieved during the reporting period.
Board members exchanged views on agenda items and adopted several resolutions. The report on the first half of 2025 was discussed, with special emphasis placed on the positive trends observed in the agency’s main areas of activity. It was decided that the current momentum should be maintained, and the continuity of ongoing reforms must be ensured.
The meeting also included discussions on AMADA’s initiative to host the European annual symposium of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in 2026. The Supervisory Board assessed this proposal as a new and significant stage in the agency’s international presence, stating that this step highlights Azerbaijan’s active role in the global anti-doping movement and its commitment to clean sport.
AMADA aims to continue its operations in the coming period based on transparency and accountability principles. The Supervisory Board will continue to monitor and guide this process, contributing actively.
