This morning, the second group of Azerbaijani athletes departed for Germany to participate in the Universiade.
The rhythmic gymnastics and taekwondo teams first flew to Istanbul via a connecting flight, from where they will travel to Dusseldorf, Idman.biz reports.
Azerbaijani athletes will compete in 12 sports at the Universiade held in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region: athletics, badminton, archery, beach volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics, taekwondo, canoe sprint, swimming, table tennis, tennis, judo, and fencing.
During the multi-sport event, which will take place from July 16 to 27, a total of 234 sets of medals will be contested across 18 disciplines.
