Litvintsev to compete at European Championships ahead of 2026 Winter Olympics

Azerbaijani figure skater Vladimir Litvintsev, who has secured a quota for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy, will take part in the European Championships in January.

This was announced by Gunel Badalova, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation. Speaking about the Olympic preparations of the athletes, the federation official noted that Litvintsev earned his Olympic license based on his results at the World Championships, while Anastasia Papatoman recently secured her place at the Games.

According to Badalova, Papatoman qualified for the Olympics based on the total number of points she collected at several alpine skiing competitions organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS). Both athletes are currently undergoing intensive training. Litvintsev is scheduled to compete at the European Championships in January, while Papatoman continues her preparations.

The Winter Olympic Games will be held from February 6 to 26 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
