Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov met with athletes who achieved outstanding results in international competitions last month.
According to Idman.biz, the meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Sports Academy and began with the performance of the National Anthem.
During the event, Minister Farid Gayibov praised the athletes for their accomplishments on the international stage and congratulated both them and their coaches. In his speech, he noted that in October, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played in 17 countries. Over the month, Azerbaijani athletes won a total of 70 gold, 102 silver, and 157 bronze medals.
A video presentation showcasing the athletes’ international achievements throughout the month was also shown. Later, representatives of several sports disciplines shared information about the competitions they took part in and their results.
At the end of the event, Minister Farid Gayibov wished the athletes even greater success in their upcoming competitions.
