As excitement builds for the first-ever UFC event in Baku — “UFC Fight Night: Hill vs. Rountree Jr.” — Azerbaijani UFC star Rafael Fiziev paid a special visit to the Qarabag FK training base.
Fiziev was welcomed by Qarabag head coach Gurban Gurbanov and team player Bahlul Mustafazadeh at the club’s Azersun Arena, Idman.biz reports.
During the visit, Qurbanov gave Fiziev a Qarabag jersey with the number 11, a gesture of appreciation. In return, Fiziev presented the coach with a pair of official UFC gloves.
The meeting also included a friendly face-off between Fiziev and Mustafazadeh in a “target shooting” game. Fiziev then gave a short demo of striking techniques, showing Mustafazadeh a few MMA moves.
Photos and videos from the visit were shared on UFC’s official Instagram page, which boasts over 47.3 million followers, giving global exposure to the unique sports crossover moment.
