Olympic champions Elnur Mammadli, Hidayat Heydarov, and Zelym Kotsoiev met with local residents during their visit and familiarized themselves with the ongoing construction and development works.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Reconstruction, Construction, and Management Service in Khankendi city and the Agdara and Khojaly districts, as reported to Idman.biz, the guests first visited Karabakh University.
They were informed about the history and activities of this higher education institution. The athletes then visited the Khankendi stadium, where they reviewed the ongoing construction work.
It was stated that the stadium’s reconstruction process will be completed soon.
Under the “First State Program on the Great Return,” consistent measures are being implemented to restore social, economic, cultural, and sports life in the territories liberated from occupation.
During his speech at the event dedicated to the sporting achievements of 2024, the head of state emphasized that the visits of athletes to the liberated lands would have great significance for youth and children. These visits by members of the sports community are carried out at the initiative and with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in response to the President’s call.
As part of the program, visits by our Olympic champions to Shusha, Lachin, Fuzuli, and Agdam and meetings with local residents are also planned.

A visit to Karabakh by Azerbaijan’s Olympic judo champions has begun.
Idman.biz, citing Sportnet.az, reports the two-day trip is organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Judo Federation to promote judo.
During the visit, which includes Elnur Mammadli, Hidayat Heydarov, and Zelym Kotsoiev, meetings with the public will be held, and important historical sites will be visited.
The Olympic champions will be in Khankendi and Shusha today, and in Lachin and Fuzuli tomorrow.
