The International Judo Federation (IJF) has updated its rankings following the Grand Slam tournament held in Kazakhstan.
Although the Azerbaijani men’s national team did not participate in the event, the athletes have successfully maintained their positions in the global rankings, Idman.biz reports.
Olympic champions Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) continue to lead their respective weight categories with confidence. Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg) remains in sixth place.
Zelim Tckaev (81 kg) and Rashid Mammadaliyev (73 kg) are both ranked seventh, while the remaining Azerbaijani judokas fall outside the top ten. Among them, Balabay Agayev (60 kg) holds the 11th position, and Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg) ranks 12th.
