Azerbaijani judoka Murad Fatiyev will not compete at the upcoming World Judo Championships.
The Azerbaijan Judo Federation has officially announced that Fatiyev, who competes in the 90 kg weight category, sustained an injury during the bronze medal match at the recent European Championships held in Podgorica, Montenegro, Idman.biz reports.
Despite the injury, Fatiyev emerged victorious in that match and secured a bronze medal for the national team.
The World Championships are scheduled to take place from June 13 to 20 in Budapest, Hungary. Unfortunately, Fatiyev’s recovery timeline will not allow him to participate.
