Recent updates in the global judo rankings have brought some noteworthy shifts for Azerbaijani judokas.
According to Idman.biz, while most retained their previous positions, Murad Fatiyev’s advancement stands out as he moved up two spots following his performance at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, where he won bronze. His recent success has elevated him to 7th place, up from 9th.
Eljan Hajiyev, an Olympic competitor, also rose two places to 9th position in his category, reflecting his steady progress.
Other notable Azerbaijani judokas in the top ranks include Balabay Agayev (60 kg) and Zelim Tckaev (81 kg), both currently in 7th, and Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg), who holds the 10th spot. Leading the rankings are Olympic champions Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg), who remain at the top in their weight classes.
