The well-known handball player of Azerbaijan, Rafiga Shabanova, was awarded with the Honorary Order.
According to the information provided to Idman.biz by the federation, the Olympic champion was awarded this award in a meeting with the president of the organization Saleh Mammadov on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
Mammadov conveyed his pleasant words to the jubilee and wished her good health.
It should be noted that Rafiga Shabanova won the gold medal of the 1976 Montreal Olympics as a member of the USSR national team. She won the International Handball Federation Cup in 1983. R.Shabanova, who won the silver and bronze medals of the USSR Championship several times, also won the silver medals of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR.
