Azerbaijan’s junior group rhythmic gymnastics team is set to begin their campaign at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Sofia, where they will face competition from 36 other teams.
Following two days of individual performances, the tournament has entered a one-day break before the start of the group all-around competition, which kicks off tomorrow, Idman.biz reports.
Azerbaijan’s group team will feature the following gymnasts: Nazrin Abdullayeva, Roya Alikishiyeva, Ayan Nasirova, Shams Muvaffaqi, and Nazrin Salmanli. They will perform routines with 5 hoops and 5 pairs of clubs.
In total, 37 group teams will compete for top honors in Sofia.
Azerbaijan has qualified for two finals in the individual program, Fidan Gurbanli in the clubs event and Azada Atakishiyeva in the hoop event
