Nikita Simonov placed fourth at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championship held in Leipzig, Germany.
The Azerbaijani national team member competed in the rings final, earning a score of 14.333, which placed him just outside the podium, Idman.biz reports.
The gold medal in this discipline went to Turkish gymnast Adem Asil, who had already claimed victory in the all-around competition.
Simonov won a silver medal in the rings event at last year’s continental championship.
