Azerbaijani trampoline gymnast Seljan Mahsudova has climbed to third place in the overall standings of the Trampoline Gymnastics World Cup series.
Mahsudova has earned 64 points after two stages of the competition. Her rise in the rankings comes from placing fifth at the Baku World Cup and reaching the semifinals in Riccione, Italy, Idman.biz reports.
Remarkably, she is currently ahead of some big names in the sport. She leads neutral athlete Anzhela Bladtceva by one point, and is nine points ahead of six-time world champion and trampoline legend Hikaru Mori of Japan.
The overall standings are currently topped by neutral athletes, Sofiya Alyayeva leads with 105 points followed by Violeta Bardzilovskaya with 88 points.
Mahsudova’s performance highlights her growing status among the world’s elite in trampoline gymnastics.
