Kolev Marian, the head coach of the Azerbaijani aerobics national team, emphasized that the key competitions for next year will be the World Games and the European Championship to be held in Ganja.
In an interview with Idman.biz, he noted that the team currently comprises teenagers competing at the Gymnasiade in Manama, where they have already secured a silver and a bronze medal.
The national team's primary event of the season was the World Championship in Pesaro, where the mixed duo of Vladimir Dolmatov and Madina Mustafayeva earned a silver medal. Kolev explained that athletes require time to "catch up," highlighting that despite previous strong performances, they had not managed to win medals at world and European championships for various reasons. He mentioned that the success in Pesaro came after making adjustments to their program shortly before the competition, which was well-received by both audiences and judges during a prior tournament in Bulgaria.
Looking ahead, Kolev stated that the team will focus its training on both the World Games and the European Championships in Ganja, scheduled for November next year, along with age group European competitions.
At the Gymnasiade in Bahrain, Maryam Topchubashova won a bronze medal in the individual category, and the team comprising her, Sara Alixanli, Fidan Ibrahimova, Leyla Ahmadova, and Evelina Kozlovskaya secured a silver medal in the group events.
