Mexican driver Sergio Perez has reached an agreement to sign with the "Cadillac" team in Formula 1.
Several sources close to the situation have shared this information with PlanetF1, Idman.biz reports.
An official announcement is expected to be made at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, scheduled for September 5-7.
The new team representing the USA will become the 11th participant in the Formula 1 World Championship starting from the 2026 season.
Last season, Perez competed with the Red Bull team and finished 8th overall with 152 points. Meanwhile, his teammate Max Verstappen became the world champion. Perez left the Austrian team at the end of the season.
