The second round of the Misli Premier League was dominated by the visiting teams.
According to PFL, out of six matches, the away side won five.
“Araz-Nakhchivan” defeated “Turan Tovuz,” “Sabah” overcame “Shamakhi,” “Zira” beat “Gabala” all with a 2-1 scoreline, while “Karvan-Yevlakh” won 3-2 against “Kapaz,” and “Sumgayit” triumphed 1-0 over “Qarabag.” Only “Neftchi,” visiting “Imishli,” dropped points on the road.
This marks the first time in 18 seasons that home teams have lost five matches in the same round. The last occurrence was even before the championship began under the PFL banner, during the 2007/08 season.
On December 1-2, 2007, in the 13th round, away teams won five out of seven games. At that time, “Neftchi” defeated “ABN-Barda,” “Baku” beat “Turan” both 2-0, “Standard” overcame “Genclerbirligi” 5-1, “Masalli” beat “Karvan,” and “Olympic” won 1-0 against “Qarabag.” In the matches “Gabala” – “Inter” and “Khazar Lankaran” – “Simurq,” the home teams managed to secure victories with identical 2-1 scores.
