Today, the break in the Misli Premier League has ended.
The 2025/2026 season has started after an 81-day pause, Idman.biz reports.
The opening match of the new football year was held at the Shamakhi City Stadium, where “Karvan-Yevlakh” hosted “Gabala.” Since the Yevlakh City Stadium is under renovation, the match took place here. The game was officiated by FIFA referee Aliyar Agayev and marked the first-ever Premier League meeting between these two teams.
No goals were scored in the first half. In the second half, each side scored once. The match ended in a 1–1 draw.
One of the six matches in the first round will not be played due to “Qarabag” continuing its campaign in the Champions League. The other matches of the round will be spread over three days. On August 16, “Imishli” will face “Turan Tovuz” and “Neftchi” will host “Shamakhi.” The following day, “Sumgayit” will play against “Kapaz,” and on August 19, “Zira” will meet “Araz-Nakhchivan.”
