Azerbaijani FIFA referee Elchin Masiyev served as the fourth official in the UEFA Super Cup match between PSG (France) and Tottenham (England).
Idman.biz, citing AFFA, reports that the match was officiated by Portuguese referee Joao Pedro Silva Pinheiro.
The game, held at the “Friuli” Stadium in Udine, Italy, ended in a 2:2 draw. PSG claimed the Super Cup by performing better in the penalty shootout.
With this appointment, Elchin Masiyev became the first Azerbaijani referee to participate in a UEFA Super Cup match, making history in Azerbaijani football.
After the match, he was awarded a special recognition by UEFA.
